Great wine – very personal

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Le Bambole" is more than just a wine—it's a true passion project for Monia and Franco Piccini and, at the same time, the winery's signature wine. This special Tuscan red wine has been part of Il Palagio di Panzano's range since the 2011 vintage. The Sangiovese grapes come from a south-facing single vineyard in the heart of the Conca d'Oro—and this vineyard bears a very special name: "Vigna delle Bambole," named after the family's two daughters, Giorgia and Gianna—"Le Bambole"—the girls!

The grapes are carefully harvested by hand. The wine then ferments for 21 days in steel tanks, matures for 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels, and then for another 18 months in large 1,000-liter barrels. Six months of bottle aging completes the process—although you can easily age Le Bambole for 25 years.

And how does it taste? Powerful and full of character, with aromas of ripe red fruits and a hint of oak. Velvety-smooth tannins, a full body, and a long finish—a true experience in the glass. But beware: Only 1,000 to 3,000 bottles are produced each year. Be quick!

Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, between Florence and Siena, lies the "Il Palagio di Panzano" winery. Monia inherited it from her father, and today she and Franco—both true "Panzanesi"—manage the estate with love and dedication.

The approximately eight hectares of vineyards are located in prime locations in the Conca d'Oro—where the sun warms during the day and cool breezes provide relief at night. Merlot was once also grown here, but today Il Palagio di Panzano focuses entirely on what they do best: Sangiovese. And you can taste it in every bottle.

Organic wine with character – 100% Panzano

What makes Il Palagio di Panzano so special? The quality and the respectful treatment of nature. The winery converted to sustainable farming in 2007, and has been officially certified organic since 2013. It's no wonder that Panzano is now considered a pioneer among Italy's organic wine regions.

Today, you'll find four hand-picked wines in our range: the uncomplicated Chianti Classico , the elegant Chianti Classico Riserva , the powerful Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Le Bambole, and the fresh Rosato "Aldemara ." The Torgentile cuvée and the "small" Ignobile are no longer produced—the focus is clearly on quality, sustainability, and pure Sangiovese.
