Fattoria Poggerino in Radda in Chianti, owned by siblings Benedetta and Piero Lanza, is a model winery with a focus on organic and sustainable viticulture. On 43 hectares, including 12 hectares of vineyards, mainly Sangiovese grapes thrive in the steep, south-west facing vineyards, which benefit from a unique microclimate. The stony Galestro soil offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of high-quality wines.
Poggerino has specialized in the production of Chianti Classico since the 1980s. The range includes traditional and innovative wines, such as the classic Chianti Classico, the Riserva "Bugialla" and the Chianti Classico (N)Uovo, which matures in egg-shaped cement tanks. The range is complemented by the Supertuscan "Primamateria" and the Rosato "Aurora", both made from Sangiovese grapes.
The organic cultivation methods, combined with individual biodynamic measures, reflect Piero's conviction that respectful treatment of the soil and the environment is essential for excellent wines. Poggerino regularly receives awards for its quality and innovation and is one of the leading wineries in the region.
