It's so green when Italy's olives ripen

Alongside grapes, olives and their precious oil are among the oldest foods known to man and are an integral part of Italian cuisine. Extra virgin olive oil is produced at Le Cinciole from the fruit of the Frantoio, Moraiolo, Corregiolo and Leccino varieties. These trees all grow directly on Le Cinciole and are, of course, organically farmed. The olives are harvested by hand with great care. They reach the mill within 48 hours, where they are of course cold-pressed. The oil is naturally filtered through cotton. The result is a fruity, elegant oil with lots of flavor and character - and of course very, very green.

Living in harmony with nature - that is the challenge that Valeria and Luca Orsini, the owners of Le Cinciole, have set themselves since the early 1990s. Not least for this reason, the winery has been certified organic since 2002. Valeria and Luca understand "organic" as a cycle. In other words, what is on Le Cinciole stays on Le Cinciole - with the exception of the wines and oils, of course, which are sold. All organic waste is recycled in the large compost heap. The electricity needed for the work in the vineyard, for the guests or in the wine cellar at Le Cinciole is generated by solar panels. Naturally, no pesticides are used - roses act as a "mildew early warning system" and herbs, cereals and flowers between the rows of vines ensure an ecological balance in the vineyard and olive groves. They have also ensured the return of butterflies and fireflies. The condition of the vines is also monitored by sensors. If there is a problem, action can be taken immediately. The result: the vines are optimally cared for and ultimately deliver the best possible quality. 

A range of wines of the highest quality with the Panzano-Plus

There are six wines in the Le Cinciole range. In addition to Tuscany's leading variety - the Sangiovese grape - the international grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grow on the slopes of the vineyard, albeit to a much lesser extent. First and foremost, of course, there is the Chianti Classico - 100 percent Sangiovese. Then the Riserva with the name Aluigi - also a pure Sangiovese. And for the Petresco, the top wine of the house, the same applies: Solo Sangiovese! The fresh Rosato is also made exclusively from Sangiovese at Le Cinciole. International varieties are used for the mighty Camalaione - 70 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 percent Syrah and 15 percent Merlot. The Cinciorosso, the "little brother" of the Camalaione, contains 70 percent Sangiovese, 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 percent Syrah and 5 percent Merlot grapes. What all the wines have in common: They are all 100 percent organic. And: they all unmistakably bear the terroir of Panzano in Chianti.

Over the past 20 years, Valeria and Luca Orsini, the owners of Le Cinciole, have succeeded in building up an exemplary wine estate in the heart of what is probably the most famous wine region in the world - Chianti Classico. In addition to the wonderful products, Le Cinciole is also an excellent place to spend a vacation. Two apartments await holidaymakers and wine lovers. The two apartments with the evocative names Ginestra and Corbezzolo have been lovingly furnished and are suitable for four people each. Here you can spend your vacation in the midst of organically cultivated vineyards - even the electricity for the apartment comes from its own solar system. The view from the window sweeps over the medieval houses and towers of Panzano in Chianti. And by the pool: vineyards and forests as far as the eye can see. And when evening falls, the fireflies flutter through the balmy summer nights.
