Cinciorosso Toscana IGT from Le Cinciole

The little birdie, the red to "chirp"

The label of the Cinciorosso Toscana IGT features a hand-drawn little bird - which suggests that the "little one" from Le Cinciole is - to put it casually - perfect for "chirping away". Sangiovese, the autochthonous grape variety of Tuscany par excellence, sets the tone for Cinciorosso. In addition to the 70 percent Sangiovese, there is also 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 percent Syrah and 5 percent Merlot. The name "the little one" is also very appropriate, as the grapes for the Cinciorosso all come from the youngest vines of Le Cinciole, which have only just begun to bear fruit. Both the vinification and the ageing process of the Cinciorosso take place in cement tanks. All in all, the Cinciorosso Toscana IGT is a fruity, drinkable red wine with fine acidity and a rich bouquet, delicate tannins and a good finish. Ideal slightly chilled in summer - or simply a glass with cooking. Just because it's fun.

Podere Le Cinciole: an organic winery in Chianti Classico

The beautiful Tuscan estate of Le Cinciole, located near the medieval village of Panzano in Chianti, covers an area of 30 hectares. Traditional wine and olive growing are the main focus of the farm, which is run with great dedication by its owners Valeria and Luca Orsini. Around eleven hectares are currently used for growing wine at Le Cinciole. Around 1,000 olive trees grow on an area of five hectares - from which, incidentally, an excellent extra virgin olive oil is produced. The Orsinis' declared aim is to create a combination of quality, tradition and landscape that is in harmony with nature in everything they do. The two winegrowers have also decided to focus their attention on Tuscany's indigenous flagship variety, Sangiovese, as they are deeply convinced that this indigenous grape variety can best reflect the unmistakable terroir of Panzano.

Whether Sangiovese or Syrah: always 100 percent Panzano in the glass!

In addition to Sangiovese, international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah also grow on Le Cinciole - but less so than Sangiovese. This is because international grape varieties are only used for two of Le Cinciole's six wines: in addition to the 70 percent Sangiovese grapes used for the Cinciorosso Toscana IGT, 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 percent Syrah and 5 percent Merlot are also used. The Camalaione is made exclusively from international grape varieties: 70 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 percent Syrah and another 15 percent Merlot are used. The other four wines in the Le Cinciole range are made exclusively from the Sangiovese grape: both the palatable Le Cinciole Chianti Classico, the powerful Aluigi Chianti Classico Riserva and the top wine of the house, the Petresco, are made from 100 percent Sangiovese. The Rosato is also made from the classic "Chianti grape" at Le Cinciole. By the way: Luca Orsini is firmly convinced that the wine barrels are filled with "Radio Classico Toscana" to add a lively note to the wine.

Vacation in Chianti Classico, vacation at the winery, vacation in paradise...

When Valeria and Luca Orsini bought Le Cinciole in 1991, they were genuine career changers as winegrowers. Over the years, they have invested a great deal of time, energy and money in renovating the vineyards and the adjoining agriturismo. Two lovingly furnished apartments for four people each await holidaymakers and wine lovers in the vineyards of Le Cinciole: from the two apartments you can enjoy a direct view of the old houses and towers of Panzano. The pool, which is surrounded by shady olive trees, invites you to dream and enjoy the view over the vineyards and forests - ideally with a glass of wine in your hand... And the most beautiful excursion destinations in Tuscany Siena, Florence and of course Panzano are just a stone's throw away - the perfect setting for an unforgettable dream vacation.
