The Rosato: a wine to fall in love with

The motto of Rignana's Rosato could be "Celebrating life": Because this wine is fresh, lively and light - a real treat for the palate. The Rosato is made recently from 100 percent Sangiovese grapes, which are harvested early. The grapes are pressed immediately after harvesting, after which the juice is placed in a stainless steel tank for 30 days, where fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of max. 15°C. In the glass, the Rosato impresses with its fruity aroma - depending on the vintage, with more or less raspberries, strawberries, cherries or peaches, but without being sweet. Whether as a well-chilled aperitif or as a refreshing companion on a warm summer evening, Fattoria di Rignana's Rosato is always fun to drink. And by the way, this drinking pleasure is also available in a large format: since the 2015 vintage, the Rosato has also been bottled in a 1.5-liter magnum bottle.

The Fattoria di Rignana in Panzano in Chianti

The Fattoria e Villa di Rignana is located on the outskirts of Panzano, a village with a population of 2,000, on the road between Florence and Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. And thus in the center of Chianti Classico, which is the oldest wine-growing region in Italy. Only wines that come from here can be called Chianti Classico and bear the "Gallo Nero", or "Black Rooster", seal of quality. The Fattoria di Rignana produces a wide range of excellent wines: From Chianti Classico to Chianti Classico Riserva and, since 2013, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, through to fruity, fresh Rosato and fragrant Bianco. But the wine range also includes a single-varietal Merlot - a Super Tuscan - with the melodious name "Il Riccio". This product range is rounded off by a strong, spicy olive oil - a must for every typical Italian meal.

Simply Tuscany, simply organic - simply Rignana!

Fattoria di Rignana has been a certified organic farm since 2014. However, the focus here has long been on sustainable farming. Owner Cosimo Gericke attaches great importance to sustainability. Cosimo is convinced that this is the only way to produce the best quality wines typical of the region - fresh and easily accessible. The main focus is on the 14 hectares of vineyards planted with the autochthonous Sangiovese grape variety. A few other grape varieties can also be found on the hills of Rignana: a little Canaiolo, some Cabernet Franc, which has been used for the Riserva since the 2012 vintage, and of course the Merlot grape for "Il Riccio". There are also over 1,000 olive trees on the estate - and plenty of butterflies, fireflies and crickets in between, because they also simply feel most at home with "organic".
