Strong body with berry aroma

The grapes from the outstanding vineyards of the Fattoria e Villa di Rignana in Conca d'Oro are primarily responsible for the full body of the Chianti Classico Riserva. 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Franc have been used for the Chianti Classico Riserva since the 2012 vintage. In previous years, 15% Merlot was added to the Sangiovese. However, the carefully composed maturation process also contributes to this top wine: first, alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 27°C for around 21 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, also in steel tanks. The Chianti Classico Riserva is then matured for 24 months in new and used oak barrels of various formats - barriques and tonneaux. After bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for at least three months. The result is a well-balanced Chianti Classico Riserva in the glass. And in the mouth, the aromatic bouquet of predominantly dark fruits is a delight - depending on the vintage, of course. Incidentally, Rignana's Riserva is not only available in a 0.75-liter bottle, but also in a 1.5-liter magnum bottle and even in a 3-liter double magnum bottle. Incidentally, the Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is ideal for storage for several years. 

Panzano in Chianti: the perfect locations for the best wines!

In the heart of Tuscany, right in the middle of the route between Florence and Siena in the Chianti Classico wine-growing region, lies the small village of Panzano. And this is exactly where the Fattoria e Villa di Rignana is located - a picturesque wine estate. Panzano has a special status among wine connoisseurs due to its location in the so-called Conca d'Oro, the golden valley. The ideal microclimatic conditions develop in this top location, producing the perfect Sangiovese grapes for the best Chianti Classico every year. Furthermore, in recent years Panzano has been described by the international wine press as Italy's organic region. Almost all of the vineyards around Panzano - around 500 hectares - are now certified organic and are cultivated sustainably. The Fattoria di Rignana has been certified as an organic farm since 2014 - but here too, the owner, Cosimo Gericke, had been working with sustainability in mind for a long time before that.

Fattoria Rignana: red wine, rosato and oglio d'Olivo from Tuscany

The Fattoria di Rignana, which owns around 14 hectares of vineyards, impresses wine connoisseurs and wine lovers with five different typical wines from Tuscany: a fruity Chianti Classico made from 85% Sangiovese and 15% Canaiolo grapes. An expressive Chianti Classico Riserva made from Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. With an elegant Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, made from a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes from Rignana. Under the "Super Tuscan" label, "Il Riccio" completes Rignana's range of red wines. The special thing about "Il Riccio" is that it is a pure Merlot. The range of wines is rounded off by the fruity, lively Rosato and the fragrant Bianco white wine made from 100% Sangiovese. And of course, a typical Italian meal in Tuscany should not be complete without an extra virgin olive oil, which is produced at Rignana from the fruit of the estate's own olive trees.
